Cup Heads to its Home in Boston
Jamison, PA – It was supposed to be a grand celebration of franchise owner Matt Poli’s wedding at the Overbrook Country Club combined with the pageantry of the Hemcher Cup being handed over for the year. Instead, it turned out to be a small, intimate affair in
Jamison, PA with franchise owner and 2002 champion Terrence Gannon’s daughter Kate handing over the Hemcher Cup to 2003 champion Team Knight.
On an afternoon where Gannon’s dog, Abbey, was not at all happy to see The Cup leaving the house, team owner Anthony Lampazzi also witnessed the small ceremony,
“It was beautiful. I mean, every year I want to get that Cup back, but to see Kate Gannon take such an interest in the Hemcher Cup at such a young age, it…ummm…please, give me a moment…”
said Lampazzi as his emotions obviously got the better of him.
Now that we are into the winter, the 2004 Hemcher Cup (XII) Lottery and Draft are quickly approaching.
